Our Review
We have always been lucky at Leelanau Sands. It is an older casino, but it’s always being refurbished to keep up with the competition. This is part of Grand Traverse Resort organization, which also owns the Turtle Creek Casino. Leelanau Sands has a 1000 seat showroom featuring nationally recognized entertainment, so the weekends are busy. For a real treat visit Elements Lounge which uniquely combines slots, pool tables, darts, LCD TV’s and live entertainment.
Leelanau Sands is located 20 miles north of Traverse City on M-22. The scenic drive takes you along the shores of Lake Michigan and through Sutton’s Bay. We can never make it through Sutton’s Bay without stopping. The historic buildings have been restored and are now occupied by many unique shops. On a hot day it is a real treat to stop, get an ice cone and explore the town.

The Double Eagle Grill offers fine dining and award winning buffets. The Pan-Fried Whitefish, ½ pound Angus and Buffalo burgers are especially tasty.
Hotel
Imagine having your own private cottage on the shores of Lake Michigan, right across the street from the casino. They sleep up to eight people, but only two are available, so you must makereservations in advance. You can also stay at the Lodge located
next to the casino. It’s not fancy, but very clean, comfortable and
affordable.
